Alaskan Storm is proof that some clever ideas can make a simulation game so far under the radar be something to notice.

The story of weathered fishermen braving Mother Nature makes for some good TV drama but there isn’t a lot of action, you wouldn’t think it would translate well into a video game. This game has done the impossible – make a video game out of a show that others would deem impossible to draw enough material from. Some added multiplayer features and mini-games add to the career mode of captaining a ship and plotting what you hope is the right course. Alaskan Storm incorporates random events to keep you on your toes the entire way though. Maintain a crew and pilot a boat on turbulent waters as you try to beat the competition to market. The game follows the adventures of deep sea crab fishermen (and women) as they try to be the best and the fastest. The Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm is a video game based off the hit Discovery Channel’s TV show. This is why we’ve split our reviews into four sections: What the Game’s About, What’s Hot, What’s Not and Final Word, so that you can easily find the information you want from our reviews. Our goal is to write honest, to-the-point reviews that don’t waste your time.
